I have caught the north jetty really nice. Chest to head high super clean. Take off at the tip of the jetty. peels left all the way to the beach. You could ride it with your eyes closed. Watched it real close from o-ville. kept a close eye on bouys, cams ,models, ect.. Caught it twice PERFECT!!!!

sounds like there is alot of negativity without any appreation of what you have when it is before you.

Thats some funny stuff aint it?Iwish i would of thought to check back to see the comments,wow im gay AND im a wanker...cool didnt know bustin some balls for fun meant that,i just thought it was a funny backlash to the east coasters that talk shit for what????......cmon it was funny and you know it and yea im on pc looking at gulf coast sites silly thats where im from but im not raggin on other people for no reason, you must be from east coast and say those same things about gulf coasters or you wouldnt get upset and call me gay and a wanker and that i cant handle surf of any size (lots of laughs for that) :)!A wanker i may be that what ever it is hahaha:) and gay well my 18 yr old son may say diffrent and handling surf well i sent in pictures to these spots..FT.Pierce after killer storm (north jetty hawaii 5-0 lookin peeler)captiva gulf coast pictures i took and hermosa costa rica.I was just havin fun messin with the negetive comments and every one needs to live pura vida and travel,surf,relax peace to every one even the mean east coasters that hate gulf coasters for whatever reason hahahahaha

i've grown up in venice- lived there 13 years out of my 14 so far. sincei lived on the island and didn't have transportation to the north side, my friends and i surfed the south jetty. south seems to break more than the north. i love it there. when i was mad at my parents i'd just go sit down on the rocks and look at the ocean. it's really startin to break now cause it's the winter. i'm stuck in the middle of the damn state so my friends that i grew up surfing with go have sheshies w/o me and it makes me so frickin mad that i had to move to bartow. dangit! oh well. both jetties are good breaks- north is for the skimmers and south is for the surfers.

The Truth
I grew up surfing the north jetty in the sixties no less.There were 4 of us that surfed it. It broke about every other week 1 to 2 feet perfectly glassy great little tubes. I think the beach has been renorished or something cause when I visited ten years ago the jetty looked shorter. Or maybe I just got bigger. Any way I left in 68 and have never really looked back. My old home boys have taken to surfing the passes between the islands long paddle but they say thats where the surf is these days. for me I'm happy here in Hawaii where i,ve been ever since the best thing venice gave me was a taste for green water and barrels.If any of the old gang reads this give a shout.PS we were the og North Jetty Surf Club

Mouse,anyone who has surfed outside a surf magazine and been in the water knows that there are too many people acting like they know real surf and everyone else is a kook.But if your the real deal then what the hell are you doing looking up gulf coast spots on your P.C.!!!The truth is since the surf is actually lame in the gulf we inbreeders like to come to your break,drop in,ding your board,then hop on a lacsa flight and head for Playa Negra or Hermosa with your mouse ass girl for REAL waves you can see."What?..No name,no location where your at,or pictures of your real waves you can see?"Yea `cause your spankin your spoik while looking at the latest issue of where we gulf coast kooks really surf!

North Jetty The Great
When the conditions are right,Venice north jetty is by far THE best wave to surf on the gulf coast.But waiting on the right southwest swell in the gulf is like waiting on BinLaden to come out of a cave and say "Whoops,Sorry". In FLA. though, it's worth waiting for. In Fla., consistancy hits when cold fronts shred through the midwest during winter months,giving a northwest swell direction.Best wave on west coast,no doubt,Venice north because of bottom characteristics though not consistant.Check depth charts for quick change from deep to shallow near shore up & down the coast, and you will find little wannabe pipeline hollow nasties that will change the way you look at the gulf coast...BET!!!..P.S..(better bring bandaids for low tide).
