Katrina I have some pictures of randoms surfers a couple days before Katrina. If you were out and want to see them hit me up. They're okay pics, but whatever. The waves were real nice considering the spot. Yeah, but I think St. Andrews is an all around cool place. If you surf big stuff all the time and that's all you want.....don't come here. It's a mellow ride, but when the time is right it can get big.

Katrina Hey. I'm a transplanted surfer from San Diego, who grew up surfing Sunset Cliffs with many many great SD surfers. I just wanted to say that on the Saturday prior to Katrina, I got waves that rivaled Black's Beach, or La Jolla Shores. I'm hoping that Rita gives just as good.Though honestly, I do have some feelings of guilt after realizing what storms like Rita and Katrina do to those in their path. And, that was not the first time that I'd gotten good waves there. Not bad for the Gulf of Mexico.

Surfed this place as a grom in the 80's and it was as good as the Gulf gets. Hurricane swell, perfect A Frame peaks off the jetty and down the beach. I've lived in Hawaii for 15 years now and seen waves people only dream about but will always remember that dream sesh at St. Andrews. Stinging jellyfish can be a bitch. Bring some meat tenderizer.

More pics please! I would like to see some more shots on this spot. I just moved here from San Diego, have only surfed here twice and have much respect for the Gulf Coast surf crew! Ya my pic is in Tony's shop too! take a close look people, there is more to this place than meet's the eye. keep it up Gulf Coast!and thanks for sharing your waves.

best sesh ever surfed st andrews during hurricane andrew. the horizon looked like a line of elephants marching and the waves were unreal. there is a break across from the inlet and guys who had a boat to get there enjoyed 7 foot spitting barrels. The inlet itself was breaking in the boat lane with long perfect re forming waves. the jetty was 3 to 5 foot overhad on average for most of the day. Ive surfed in fla. for 25 years and still think of that day at st andrews as the best surf i have ever seen there. i know it doesnt happen often but it does happen.

THis place sucks! Well your right this place sucks for waves. but what can you do, nothing except be glad what we do get, I'm from St. George Island FL, and I drive up there to go surfing when its good. but one thing that is good around this place is Skimboarding, so why don't you give that a shot and just try to enjoy the surf when we do get it. later

at least the water is beautiful this area of the earth sucks to surf and sucks even worse to live when it's flat. waaay too many people in the water with heaps of logos and not near enough waves to support the ego. oh well i spose, all we got.
