| | Historically speaking, when a big hurricane approaches and the swell is already making headway through the Gulf, the beaches of Ft. Desoto are absolutely lit up with bombs. There's an outer sandbar at the NW part of the beach that easily holds a solid 4-6' top to bottom breaking wave.

During Katrina (on my lunch break) I got the longest tube ride of my entire life. Honestly, it was probably a 30 yard section that just kept reforming and reforming and refor ... well you get the picture. All in all I was shacked for at least 8-10 seconds. And (here's the kicker) ... I kicked out, paddled back out to my peak (all alone ... just me), and scored another one. Wow. This spot is the schnizit, I kid you not! |

It's generally a good bet to wait for the swell too. *HINT* If it looks small at first, no worries whatsoever ... patience is a virtue... keep in mind that on a S swell, that hard angle point break fills in hard and gooooood.
Are you goofy? This wave is your DREAM wave. The bomb so to speak. Boom! I can't wait to see you out there and of course you may PM me if you need any additional information. Gulf Coasters only need to apply for the PM rights ... as I REFUSE to give up any more information then I already have. |

Epic at Cannons Cane Dean
