People drop in all the time
I had people drop in on me 6 times yesterday morning during a three and a half hour session. I've never seen anything like it. i was disgusted. Are all americans as idiotic on waves?

Where to stay
There are beach house rentals on the point itself. Very Nice. Very EXPENSIVE. There are also a couple hotels a few miles north in Carpenteria.

accomodation
Where could you stay closest to rincon point without having to drive to get a surf?

Great wave!
What a great wave! Just like a reverse Seaside Point in Oregon! I've always wanted to surf it but finally got my first chance this last fall. I'm from Washington State so the water seemed really nice....hell, from Santa Barbara on down it seems that way. Didn't like the huge crowd factor though, but hey....it's So Cal, what do you expect......?

no matter what it is beatiful.
Surfed there travelling from ny.It was a head high glassy day and surprisingly only 10 people out..It was one of te coldest day in so.cal. maybe thats why.But since I am from ny it was like hot tub to me.I was on a short board all the way to the right side of the break where actually all the shortboarders are.The surf was so fun and leading you to improve and practice on your moves since you are trying to connect the sections you learn a lot how to ride the wave properly and get the speed out of it .Before the sunset couple flippers passedby right 2 feet infront of me ,which I guess might be casual scene ,not in ny.Well for the shark matter ;Since I have seen at least 3-4 seals during my session I am guessing there will or are sharks around there to hunt them.I dont know any place in the world with a seal population and no sharks! You might not see them but they are there. And I hope I will never see one.Because you will only see them just before they take a bite out of you.Overall I loved the atmosphere of the place.
