Additional Surfing Infos
ryms can be shifty at times but it"s a fun wave and uncrowded. rocky point is where everyone surfs and is a better wave fun rights and lefts..park your car on the side of the road
  Overview
Atmosphere alright, I know what your all going to say..Sharks Sharks and more Sharks yes they are Sharks out there Sharks eveywhere. But I've been surfing the spot for years and never seen a shark out there, cross my fingers and knock on wood, But if that"s all You Think About you should"nt be out there. The spot does have an errie feeling to it that"s probably why it"s so uncrowded,But I never think about,And I always surf it with a few friends their"s always a few guy"s out a rocky point.. have fun!
General I like to surf ryms when it"s good a fun wave without the crowd both rocky point a ryms are a "hit or miss" spots and can get blown out early but if hit it early in the morningit"s usually glassy both are shifty waves, mellow vibe in the water, I never had any problems out there just be yourself.. And have fun!

mike and ryms reef
There is this guy mike, hes actually from southern california, and surfs pretty average, probably below average really. Anyway, he is really not friendly, unless he sees you changing, and then he'll try and talk to you, because apparently he likes guys. So if you are into that, use that as a way to get some waves. tell him he looks cute in his hood, and that when he bottom turns, his stiff legs make his ass look great. We are great friends now, and I surf ryms all the time, and my tires never get slashed, and me and mike usually do nature hikes in the woods after the wind comes up. I am really glad were friends.

old farts
there are plenty of sharks here are you kidding me but usually they swim in the inside during the day because they are lazy take advantage of all the air in the water. as for tire slashings there are a few older guys from santa cruz driving newer pickups that do this stuff show up early morning you'll see these guys out by themselves or goto scotts on a bigger day you'll see those guys out there too. Just a few grumpy old farts that want to make everyone elses life miserable too.

Tire Slashings
There has been more than a few tire slashings here this past winter/spring. Unfortunatly you're out of cell phone range at this spot so you have to flag down a friendly motorist to get to Davenport to make a phone call. Hasn't happened to me yet. A friend of mine saw three cars with all four tires slashed about a month ago, he said the waves weren't even that good, but he didn't stay long to watch.
