don"t worry - if you always think about sharks before u paddle out you should"nt be out,I try not to think about it,I never seen a shark at davenport. I heard of the attacks there,I"m going to knock on wood it"s a fun wave when the conditions are right.

Hes all Around - Hey man dont think whitey isnt around the wharf, or around the kelp beds around town . Heard about a seal getting destroyed by a white right off natural bridges ,and about 4 years ago another seal gettin munched right off the end of the wharf. Theres plenty of bullshit story out there , but then there are the real encounters, sightings, and facts that make you wonder ..............I still surf town plenty but dont venture north anymore . Definitely my loss there are way better waves up north as compared to the fuckin zoos I deal with in town, I guess I lost my balls along the way to becoming married and a dad. Then I think fuck my Kid will probably get hooked on the waves north of here and Ill end up back in the water again.........fuck!!

Amen, Duck! - The guys who surf this place early and late have got to be manic depressants (with suicide on the brain), because they obviousy don't care what's swimming around under them. This place is soooo creepy. You can't help but give a little thought to how long the ambulance or lifeflight helicopter might take to reach you v. how long it takes to bleed out without any legs. And it's not even that great a wave - just a mediocre left that actually gets good very infrequently during the winter when tide, swell direction and wind are *perfect* and the rights across the bay are crap. Always.

spooked - surfed davenport alone in the lightning, my bud shows up while I'm out, he's into photography, takes a few shots of me with a 500mm from the beach, catches one with a bolt of lightning and me tossing light spray off the top, and later we're looking at the 8x10, there's a fuckin fin! inside of me. Anywhere from 3 mile north, you're in the food chain.

Davvy - Do you know where this place is? Sounds like a great place to surf. Is it really like the pipeline in Hawaii?

You fucking idiot! Pipeline my ass. The place get's its share of good surf and sharks to go with it.

Hey Pipeline guy, go surf it by yourself on a cold foggy morning with a bucket if chum dragging behind you.

Idiot

d-port - this place rocks it breaks a bit like pipe in the winter you just have to catch it on a super low tide with a double overhead swell juice! it is by far one of the best waves on the coast so go get it buck

no title - The wind hits it quick and it's over run with wind surfers. The water is really damn cold for some reason. Difficult to get it good but it does get good and powerful.
