Atmosphere
Will always be uncrowded because it requires effort to reach, even though it's in the middle of town almost. Better wave than the misc. reefs at Shoreline Park, and I like it better than Mesa Lane or the Pit (by far!) You can have it to yourself midweek. Fun and forgiving.
General
Not world class and there are better spots in SB county by far, but between Campus and Sandspit, it's definitely one of the best spots.

big - surfed it this winter, triple overhead had to come in because i soiled my shorts out there. this can be one nasty place. I agree, update your life insurance

don't surf here - if you surf here..1. respect proper surf protocol, meaning "wait your turn".2. YOU WILL anger those who have surfed such a fickle spot their entire lives.3. do not drop in on my wife.4. be friendly, courteous, and safe.This is not really a surf spot. It's loaded with rocks and not readily accessible.
