THE PRICE YOU PAY - Yeah, in 1983 we got caught hiking out from Gov's to Jalama. We had a great day of surfing shoulder high waves. Sand bottom with water so clear that you can could see the shells and pebbles in 8 feet of water. So clear that in the afternoon, you could watch your shadow surfing on the bottom. And the rides were over 150 yards long on semi tubular waves being held up by the offshore winds. After a ride I would stand there in the cove and watch the rest of the set that was once 4 feet still peeling off perfectly until they were 1 inch tall. What an experience! Then we were ambushed by the guards while we were hiking out. They were waiting for us! They took us to the guard station all the way south near the Gaviota entrance. We were booked, our photos taken and then the Sheriff arrived cited and given a ticket. Then that bastard Floyd asked us what entrance did we come in so he could drop us off. We told him Jalama so he dropped us off at the Gaviota gate and laughed at us. We talked to other people over the years who suffered the same fate. If you tell them that you snuck in from Gaviota, they will drop you off at the Jalama gate and vice versa. The fine was $50. But that was 1983 and things are probably different now. But a year later I had the last laugh. We bought a Ranch Boat. And when Floyd and his buddy walked down to warn us about trespassing above the "mean high tide line" I was standing in knee deep water, he recognized me and I smiled and flipped him off. He was noticeably shaken and decided to wait there for a half an hour to confiscate a lost board. So on my last ride I was standing in ankle deep water about 15 feet from him. I held up my surfboard, showed him my board cord, and showed him my ankle strap. He was fuming. Then his buddy charged at me getting all wet as I slowly paddled away laughing and taunting him!

Bull#%&@ - What the heck are you talking about, "Asian Fisherman". The only thing you"ll see at the ranch is surfers, deer, cows and ranch workers. It's the ranch workers you have to worry about. If you get caught, your going to jail. Ever since the ranch sold a few years ago, for some reason, there are more workers than I've ever seen.
