Dont park your car where the locals park theres or they will jack it up. be experienced to surf the spot it's a real heavy dangers wave. Late drop with a fast bowl. Double ups and boils. Difficult to predict a close out or a barrel. Dangerous rocks.
WTF?
Hazard's is pretty cool. Represents the best of the Central Coast. Smell the Euctalyptus, little creek, dried kelp, and a bit of fog. Great wave most of the time. Chicks surf it now and then. If the right is too gnarly you can surf the bitchen left. Sure hope it doesn't change. Maybe the "downturn" in the housing market will slow the growth of the area. Its not really underground anymore, don't know if it ever really was. Currently living in the Central Valley and work in a prison now. Haven't paddled out in about 10 months. The squares I work with are unfamiliar with terms like "gnarly, epic, peaks, offshore, etc." Oh well, I've got my memories and a map in my mind that can always take me there...

Just for the sake of clarification: Jack 'Whitey' Martin was from Whittier. That's right; he was an "LAer". Say what you want about him, I really don't give a fuck either way. But just so that we're clear: Yeah, he ripped, but he also hassled the shit out of people FOR DOING THE SAME THING HE DID: initially being an outsider and moving to a place to get great waves. With that being said, YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. And while I'm not one to disrespect the dead; he got exactly what he deserved and I GOT QUITE A CHUCKLE WHEN I HEARD THAT A 19 YEAR OLD KID BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIM AND ALMOST DROWNED HIM FOR CONTINUALLY HASSLING HIM AT THE CANYON.

Bali was great. Surfed Kerama's many times, Ulu too. Indo Tijuana! Missed the cold water of The Canyon though...
