Go to avila pier and look south. Its the furthest point you can see from the beach. At high tide you have to paddle around the cliff. Wave breaks left off of protruding reef and peels along the beach. Works best on a big south.
Potential that usually goes nowhere
This beach was closed for a week following a shark sighting. It's perpetually closed out (except for the 1998 El Nino and subsequent runoff flow/sedimentation buildup, when it actually FIRED). Math? Look for the next "kid," beyond that, grap a photog and get shots of yourself pulling into picturesque 2-foot closeouts. Oh, if only there was sand buildup...the potential.
