BOAT ACCESS ONLY. Located inside the east tip of Point Loma. The only actual point break in San Diego. Rumor has it its crowded with 100's of boats on a good swell. Other rumors are only a handful of people to empty because you can only get here by boat. You'll have to make the trip to find out. you should *not* walk down to ralphs as you have to walk over tide pools and tha area is listed as a reseve near the shore if caught walking across the area you can face FEDERAL fines up to 5,000 dollars the best way to access ralphs or dolphin tanks little waimea is by boat. Origin of name... - Ralph's was actually named by PFC Ralph Delvecchio, who first surfed it around '62. Delvecchio was close friends with Pat Curren (they were cub scouts together according to legend) and convinced Pat to shape him a 9"2 balsa gun for big days. He was later discharged for having enormous genitals.
