Turn right on Carlsbad Village drive from the I5 and head west all the way down to the coast. Turn left on ocean st. and there should be a parking lot that has quite a few spaces. But the spaces go quickly from the early joggers.

Seriously though, this is a fun spot. Plenty of waves for everyone. Great for beginners too. Just get as close to you can to the local turds and run them over, they deserve it.
