Take the Land's End trail out past Ocean Beach about five minutes and you will see this spot nestled between 'The Cogwheel' point and the big rock stack. Walk down trail to beach.
This spot is nice because it is very scenic and you most always will have it to yourself. Take a shortboard or longboard and go at negative tides only. Too much swell- over head-high, starts to get a bit out of control. Smaller waves can be fun and snappy, and sometimes there is a decent right off the rock stack. This area is offshore on south winds, and sometimes can form ledgy little bowl sections. While Ocean Beach is far better, this is a 'surreal' diversion spot, and can be memorable.
Overview
Atmosphere
All the rocks are on the beach- at low tide there are no rocks out where the surf breaks, so you can let loose and not worry. Just don't surf it above a 0.0 tide, or if there's too much swell. It's usually just semi-fun junk surf.
General
...an interesting diversion. Very scenic- lots of sea-life and other things to see and explore. Good shore-fishing.
Another hoax
Like the cogwheel, this is not a real surf spot. It is just water breaking into a buncha rocks.

no title
No joke, this is a big gay cruising spot. I'd surf just about anywhere else, even Marin. There at least the gay guys have suits on and are surfing, not naked and cruising...
