stop arguing about lowers and blacks!! its a stupid comparision. they're both great waves. blacks is fun if you want a grinding barrel, lowers is fun if you want a long rippable face. and so what if theres a crowd? your not the only one who likes surfing. get over it!

I like it better now
I used to surf it in the late 80's and early 90's, when I was a gromm. I was expecting it to be ruined by the out of control crowd, like everyone said. In fact, when I paddled out the other day, the crowd was much cooler. They were more respectful, and friendlier. People were actually friendly! No shouting. No fights on the beach or in the water. They were wearing more conservative colors, rather than those ambigously gay, flashy wetsuits of the 80's and 90's, and there weren't a bunch of barneys dropping in on people and falling in front of them, like they had no clue. Everyone could surf, and everyone seemed to know the rules of wave courtesy.

I like it better now, for sure. Let's not go back to the way it was before. Let's never go back, EVER! If you're over 90, and you remember the days when it was just you and your woody, fine, but this decade is definately better than the last two were. Let's keep the stoke.

Looting Lowers
This used to be one of the best spots in so-cal, now that the butt-drizzle pros have slimed the place,it`s only worthy of the krak-head-locals and drizzling pro fools.

fun for the whole family
Cant we all just get along and understand that when a world class break is is plain view of one of the biggest most heavily travelled freeways in the world that it is probably going to be crowded and the people that live there are going to be upset about this. They (the people who live near said break) need to understand that they dont own any break. If any person has a problem with crowds then go find your own spot, when that gets crowded, move on. You dont hear the people in main land complaining about when the local san clemente gringos come down in the summer and surf their secret points and crap on the beach and get drunk and act like idiots. They may not like it but they seem pretty understanding everytime I go down there.

What ever happend to having fun?

Local tools
I have heard via a number of sources that the locals here are the biggest bunch of tools going around. They almost expect you to pay a fee to surf this wave. It is hilarious.
