Straight out from the lifeguard tower. Good left on a South swell. On a north swell a good right comes in. From the volley courts to the lifeguard tower is where you want to surf it no matter what swell it is.
General
Not crowded and good barrels when swell is in the house.
SC beachbreaks
Lost winds fires sometimes, the reality is that the DP Harbor has limited the sand flow a lot and still influences the south SC beach breaks- the beaches are shrinking, less sand, it took a lot longer to effect south SC then it did Capo Beach and 204, but it's happening- Rivis is seeing it too-

Lost Winds
I am a lost winds local. Everyone is fairly nice with absolutely no bad vibes out there. Waves for everyone when it is working. Only problem is, there are not enough good days. In general I believe that all of us are in denial, very rarely do we get quality surf. The only real place that may consitently have quality surf throughout the year in So Cal is Trestles but the crowd factor ruins it. Sure there are other quality breaks that light up, but in general it can be pretty damn frustrating to get up early in the am andtry to find good waves to surf. What the hell happened to the hurricanes, and other consistent swells we use to get. It seems that the past 2 years of surf in So Cal have been dismal. Wake up and face "what is really going wrong." The reality is if you can afford to travel to surf breaks then do it.
