get on I-5 going toward oceanside harbor. Get off on oceanside harbor or Camp Pendleton exit. It is on camp pendleton so you need a military id or stop to show registration and all that.then it has signs that lead to the beach
Dumb question
Hey this might sound kinda stupid, but couldn't you just paddle over to DMJ's around the Oceanside harbor? I know it would be a loooong paddle, but has anyone done this? Think it would be worth it??

heads up if you think you can go to dmj's
anyone who thinks they can get on base is wrong!! mp's are cracking down with higher security precautions... they tow your car and write you a ticket... sometimes arrest you... too many buddies of mine have gotten hasseled by them and people are starting to realize this place is over-rated... not worth the hassle at all...

Home break
I was stationed at Pendleton in 2001, I have been surfing there ever since. Surf breaks left during Summer and right during Winter. Fast hollow inconsistent breaks that dump. Summer time is usually the best time to surf here, early in the morning, noon, or late afternoon. Compared to Oceanside, crowd here is minimal, mostly Marines on spongies. The rides are long during the summer. Check this place out when tide is lowd to mid.
