Not So Bad If You Tread Lightly
The one and only time I have gotten the opportunity to surf Fullers was one of the most memorable days of surfing in my life. While I was down in Arroyo Grande from Florida for business, I had a day off to do some exploring of the mythical Big Sur coast and being a surfer, of course my board was coming with me. Driving that great drive and not knowing anywhere up there, I was just looking for a spot that head a few heads out and was having no luck until I stumbled upon Fullers. I get out of the truck, look down the cliff, and see just flawless, wedgey peaks coming in. I'm out there. Find the trail, work my way down its sketchiness, and get to the bottom and just watch for a while in aw at how beautiful and good it is there. Finally I go over to one of the guys chillin down there to chat a bit. He's definately vibin me out at first, telling me how scary and mean the locals are and how gnarly the wave is and whatnot, just tryin to get me tuck tail and head back up the cliff. I just told him I tread lightly and that they won't even know I'm there and really just killed em with kindness. So I paddled out, didn't even think about paddling out to the peak and just let the locs get their waves, didn't hassle, and took the scraps. And even those scraps were better than any wave we really get in Florida. Just perfect! The whole time out there,I didn't get hassled, didn't get snaked, and really just had a great time. When I came in even the guy that was vibing me before I paddled out was being pretty cool because he could see I knew the proper way to approach a spot like that. With Respect. I'm sure that is not the way it always is down there, but I'm sure alot of those people bring it on themselves with shite attitudes and show no respect. If that's the case, so be it, they got what was coming to them, and that goes for any spot in the world. Tread lightly, show respect, and have a good attitude and you should be alright there. Don't and I'm sure things could happen.

Bad place to park
I heard about recent problems with meth heads ripping off cars there. Even the local surfers had been hit. You can see where the meth head guys hang out above where you park.

take your chances
just so you guys traveling through know... this surf brake is down a long trail, and a long ways form your car. Everyone who surfs here knows eachother, and there have been problems with vandalism in the past. I'm not saying don't surf it... i'm just saying be forwarned.
