Big south 05 - Uhhh, errrr, ummmmmm, That's a good sized one. It gets a lot bigger than that. Those pics actually show the fun zone. I like the wide angle one from the top. With the bending walls. This particular swell was a little too much out of the south for the lefts. Great for the rights.There was probably some good lefts, but for the most part, not as good as the rights. But as Fullers goes, this was just a good sized day.

Fullers - A few thing to consider.
Mind your manners.
Don't get in the way. If caught(when) inside, don't try to out run the wave. It stalks you. Not to mention you'll get in the way.
Go by yourself.
Wait your turn.
Watch it for about a hr during a big south. So hemi's have long lulls, and that will catch you off guard. 3 wave hold downs are no fun. Especially when you end up in deadmans.
As for Fullers becoming state property?
Nope. Won't happen.
Locals. Yep, their there. Don't be stupid. Show some respect. Be courteous. Wait your turn. Wait for the shift change.
And, above all, keep your eyes peeled for big fins. You won't be the first one to see one. Or two. Or three. There's a seal rookery just to the south. To the gws, that's their supermarket. When kelp bed sets show up. If you're in the water, if you aren't out far enough, give up. That place can and will beat you with in a inch of your life. You better be in very good condition to take the abuse that place hands out. Because, you will get caught inside. You will take a beating.
On the other hand, that place pumps.
Fullers can handle the biggest of south swells. Just don't get caught inside. The urethane sleigh ride underwater is brutal.

Nah. - This place will never become a state park, for two reasons:
1. Access is too difficult. There'd be no space for a parking lot, and trying to make one would cost more money than they could ever make off it. The trail to get down the beach is too steep and dangerous for the state to want to deal with. They'll just raise the price on Pfieffer Burns if they want money.

2. Fuller's is on private property. The government would have to buy the land first.

Its inconvenient access and relative remoteness will always keep the crowds relatively low on all but the biggest of swells. And the fact the no one bothers to check it in the winter.

CA state budget deficit retraction - What I really meant to say was:"..will probably soon be transforming this place.." since I've merely hypothesized such an intention to resolve the current CA state budget deficit in my aforesaid manner. So now that means any hillbilly locals reading my retraction may clean the poopies from their booties.

CA state budget deficit - The newly elected Governor of CA will soon be transforming this place into a state park. So that means the locals will no longer need to be respected whenever anyone wants to surf at the formerly-known Fullers. It's probably going to be named Little Sur, or whatever the state chooses, & it's about time to celebrate this opening!

Y'all forgot to tell them about the sharks haha - I am in povones costa now just happend across this site with comments about fullers and was stoked to here most people still feel the same this area of Cali is majestic and has remained that was for along time there are rules at fullers 1. be respectful of the locals 2. If you are a beginner don't try it your not ready 3. if you are told to leave do it!! 4. If you make it out and catch a few waves cherish it you just rode one of the best spots in north america!!! The best way to ride fullers is with a big group or get invited.

Fullers is for Everyone - I'm 63 and new to these websites but please here me all you locals if you truly are. I know you, you aren't violent at heart. Life is too short to get mad. Promote peace and if you don't like others surfing your spot that's fine. Keep it to yourself and turn it into something positive. Keep surfing a peaceful sport - in tune with the very spot itself.

Fullers ain't no secret - I am a local - been surfing here 20 years and welcome any outsider as long as they come with respect and leave it how they found it. To my Big Sur brethren, Grow up and treat people with the same respect you demand from them. NO VIOLENCE AT FULLERS!!!!!
