Nootka Island Access
Remote location off of west coast of Vancouver Island. Can be accessed directly by boat, if you are very experienced with the Ocean. Or six hour drive west from Campbell River onto a boat charter (Uchuck 3, passenger ferry), to land on Nootka Island. From the drop off is an eight hour hike west through rain forestto the open Ocean. The final destination has surf shacks to accommodate. Not much chance of seeing another person.

Additional Surfing Infos
Try spots of Bajo Point and Calvin Bay to find waves.

My guess about the ideal surf season would be that it would match what is typical to Van Is. surfing and swells. This being spring and fall, because summer lacks energy, though has great weather and the winter has too much energy and can get scary being the first land that storms meet.
  Overview
Atmosphere Remote, remote location, tons of wildlife, big like Black Bears to small mice that will enjoy your food. Not a high probability that you will see another person. A long trip into a highly remmoved location, be prepared. Not only much experienced surfer but experienced hiker required. Take a look at weather forcast and don't bother in the winter.

North Island breaks
I'm going to be doing a surf trip around the island in my boat, it's a 48 foot sloop. I can cruise at a max of 7 knots on motor power, faster under sail depending on the wind. My question is, are there any safe anchorages around the surf spots on Nootka/Brooks Pen./Hesquiat? If anybody has any information about navigational hazards or GPS coordinates for me, I'd totally appreciate it, otherwise I'm going in blind. Mahalo.

been there here is what i found.
Nootka island is a beautiful place went to stay there for about a week .. me and 5 others with 10 surf boards all rented a plane that can land on the soft sand and we flew onto the beach and stayed for 8 days and not everyday was a surfing day but what a beautiful place to be.. Saw some kayakers paddle there way into this place and they stayed for 1 night then left.. but we had some surf as we listen to the radio for storms coming accross the ocean.. Plane came and picked us up on the 8th day and we were back to the jungle.. Did only see one baby wolf pup when we were there saw lost of paw prints around the tent area but never saw or heard them at night .... I am going back every summer now and think its great.

Enough BS already
I've surfed off of Nootka for 6 years now. To the dolts worried about "outsiders"... shut up already unless you're native you don't "belong here" either. Nootka's remote if you go unprepared you might get worked, it's your life to risk as you see fit. I've used the company that "guides" and offers "camps" out there, so have friends and none will ever go that route again, and most will spout evil in his direction, Clay of Tatchu adventures. What you put in print shows what's inside buddy. The surfings good off Nootka in Sept and better in Oct if you do decide to go then all the best to you cause it's a long way to go...
