no title - how close is Nanaimo to a surf spot
no. - there is no surf in nanaimo.
info - is there anywhere to surf in Nanaimo?
no title - Im from Australia living in Canada and I love the west coast. Its very different from where Im from (Surfers Paradise) but I love the beaches here. As for the locals Ive had no trouble but if you are having trouble, you get that wherever you go, they are just defending their territory, you should see what they do to you out in the surf back home, you guys have it easy.
cold water my ass - the water at cox bay in winter sceems to be warm for some strange reason.mabbe becaus the air temps so cold .but me and me mates all went out in boardies and it wasnt that cold . survival kit bullshit
... - the localism isn't bad at all around tofino (i have lived here my whole life, so i have a pretty good idea) i haven't ever surfed south van isl... so can't say anything about the localism there. i think if there is any localism its more just looking back on how the town used to be-a little fishing village- then just kinda being bitter about how crazy it sometimes gets and just wishing it was still like that. but almost everybody who lives around tofino has also benefitted from the tourist industry. so its bitter sweet. of course there are assholes everywhere you go, but for the most part it is pretty mellow. there shouldn't be much localism since theres only a few who are actually local haha. don't get me wrong, i don't think that if you are local you are superior or anything! just respect the environment your in and everything usually goes smoothly.
no title - NEXT TIME
what? - you guys dont have crap. No localism at all. they are just trying to act hard so you wont come and surf the spots. Dont let it bother you the waves are fun and the locals are pussys. some one said a local waxed your car, you must be a kook, i think that theirs only 3or 5 locals in that area and they would never wax anyones car they can barley surf. Wax my car i dare you!!!
what the f... - man i thought this was fucking canada not california as if all you dickheads think that youre the kings of the inconsistent shit surf we get here. it does go off from time to time, but i've surfed a few other continents and theres always locals, but not usually as fucking rude as the ones here....and i live here.
no title - Don't worry there's locals and enough of them to drive you back to the sorry little hovel you crawled out of !
