When going towards Tofino turn left on Lynn Road. Parking lot for South Chesterman's will be at the first corner on your left. Parking for central and North Chesterman's will be on your right as you follow the road..
Since it is sheltered this spot can be nice and clean when the surf is big or stormy. Good winter break.
Two beaches that go forever meet at a sandbar that disappears with tides out to an island. Chesterman south is good to learn, and some bigger waves can be found at the north end.

Great beach for all types... especially long boarders... tones of fun waves to be had here. Lots of people on the weekends but you can usually avoid the novices and still have a great time. Parking lot is full in afternoons so get in early... big plus... you don't have to pay to park unlike the provincial park. $7 per person in your vehicle or just buy a family pass for $17.

It's a great feeling to catch your first wave, isn't it! Congrats on melding with another part of the earth. Ignore all the anon BS out there. Most of the big boys out there yap loudly, just like little, spoiled dogs. The reason why there are far fewer happy comments is bc all the happy kids are smiling too big to see the keyboard...whilst all the miserable anons aren't happy with their lives, so they blame all their personal failures on everything around them-even the surf! Ha can you believe that! Blame it on nature!!! Ejnoy the rest of your new life on the water!
