Wanted: Board for rent or purchase - Will be back on Cape Breton Island this summer and looking for a board to rent or purchase. Met someone at Point Michaud last summer who said there was a surf shop in Sydney, but I've been unable to locate it. Suggestions?

beginner - Beginning this summer after having waited many years to try. Would be nice to find others to surf with on weekends or in the summer. Looks like the ideal place to start out. Location is great as I live in Port Hawkesvbury.

Back on Cape Breton - HEy everyone, I just got back from my two and a half month stay in Southern California surfing. It was great! If anyone needs gear or someone to surf with you can reach me at (902)227-1230. The surf house on the ocean will be up and running too for the end of June near Point Michaud if anyone needs a place to stay for the summer or fall. Look foward to hitting the local breaks next swell. I got use to surfing the crowds in California but there's something to be said for the local breaks with you and just a few friends around.

First time - Last week's swell was sick, eh? Got my first real barrel on the inside shorebreak after catching a HUGE outside peeler! What a rush, I just pulled in casual and got ridiculously barreled! Came out too!
when I first showed up, the break didn't look so hot, but I figured what the hell, might as well give it a go! Man, it was insane. Long wait, for sure, between quality waves, but they're out there!

PS: whats up with that Seal near the rocks? Someone been feeding him or something? He's pretty friendly...

western caper - I grew up around michaud and now live/work and surf in tofino/ucluelet on van island. Good to hear there is someone building a grom scene in cape breton. I can't wait to visit and drive 5 mins from the homestead to the surf or just crash at shoreline cabins i know from childhood. Why didn't I think of surfing the island sooner....probably never would have left. I am looking for local to st. peter's surf info so I can plan a trip any help please e-mail.....

Point Michaud Surf Classic - This surf contest will be held the last weekend in August. It will also be a qualifying event for junior girls and boys that are interested in being part of the Canadian Surf Team for the ISA world surfing games this October in California.
