I'm heading to the Cape again in the coming months. Looking forward to touring the island and proving my theory correct...When was growing up, I missed thousands of waves all over the island. Looking for someone to hook me up with a surf board rental, and possibly a surfing buddy. Any takers?

Weird stuff
Found two "half" carcasses of Seals on the South Beach the other day. Had bite marks in them like you see in cookie commercials. Been around these waters since I was a toddler and I've never seen anything like it.

Ingonish
Mark, or anyone else who is interested in surfing in Ingonish between October 4th - 11th. Email me your contact info and I'll give you a shout when I get home that week. Also, can anyone tell me how to find out what the conditions are before I go, without the use of internet, and what kind of winds I should be looking for? Reason I ask is I'm staying about 2 hours away from Ingonish.

Anyone looking to surf from now until December?
I'm afraid there isn't really anywhere within 3 hours driving to rent a board and wetsuit here. Maybe you could work out a multi day deal from a rental shop in Lawrencetown or Halifax. If anyone wants to join me I will be out there most nights the waves are breaking for the fall. Stop by the park warden office (10 minutes from the beach) and ask for Mark and we can arrange a session. Note: Even 150 metres is an exaggeration from what I've seen so far.

Looking for board and a wetsuit, October 05
I'm heading back home in the first two weeks of October 05 from out west. I want to try surfing in Ingonish. Anyone tell me what the conditions are like that time of year? I'm looking to rent a board and a wetsuit, and maybe a couple of lessons. Anyone with any info?

Point Michaud Summer Surf Lessons
The Richmond County Tourism and Recreation Department has agreed to expand the summer surf program at Point Michaud Beach for July and August. They are purchasing the extra surfboards and wetsuits needed for the program. There will be 4 different class times to sign up for each month. Class A will run Sat 10-12, Class B runs Sat 1-3, Class C runs Sun 10-12 and Class D runs Sun 1-3. Each class is for 4 weeks, includes lesson, wetsuit and surfboard at a cost of $50. Class size is a maximum of 6 students. Ages 10 and up. The last weekend in August we will host the Point Michaud Surf Classic. This will be free of charge to those registered in the classes for July or August. Anyone else wishing to register for the Point Michaud Surf Classic will only be charged a small fee, (think it was $5. last year).

Best to pre-register by contacting Cecile Hyland at 226-3981 or email chyland@richmondcounty.ca

Summer Is Pretty Flat
This is on of the most inconsistent areas of Nova Scotia. Its a great place in the summer for tourists, nature etc. but I would only count on getting a handful of surfable days. Better off going somwhere more consistent, South Shore, Halifax area.

Is it worth hanging out there for a summer?
how consistent are the breaks? all summer?
