surfing in Israel |
| |
The 'holy land' for some, somewhat less of a 'destination' as far as the surfing goes... the Mediterranian sometimes throws up sufficient swell. As it is mostly short fetch wind swell, get out there and enjoy it when you can. Notwithstanding this, Israel produces some good surfers Location: Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Egypt and Lebanon Geographic coordinates: 31 30 N, 34 45 E Coastline: 273 km Climate: temperate; hot and dry in southern and eastern desert areas Terrain: Negev desert in the south; low coastal plain; central mountains; Jordan Rift Valley Natural hazards: sandstorms may occur during spring and summer; droughts Currency: new Israeli shekel (nis)

un fit!!!
Not bad waves, peaking out back and then re-forming on the inside, 8-14 people out and a couple of goatboats. The waves were OK, but I was soooo unfit that it was quite painful.

Trip: Not a surf trip...
By Pisco23, From 2007-02-15 to 2007-02-23
Not a surf trip, but if there are any waves, I'll try and get wet. Had good conditions here last year at about the same time.
