Drive to Mumbles turn right at the mini roundabout take the left between the curch and playing field about 200m upp the road, follow this road down into Caswell Car Park and access is easy from here
Do not park in the Redcliffe Flats, the residents do not like surfers and your car will be clamped and it'll cost you £50 to get it unclamped.
Overview
Atmosphere
It's quiet a relaxed place and people are often chatty and open in the water.
General
Sloppy break but ideal for beginners and considering the other local beach spot is Langland, Caswell is the better choice for learners. Can be sheltered at hightide from south westerly winds. Left and rights on the beach and a left off the west end of the bay.
Why its got powerless on the description I dont know... With good swell this place can produce a powerfrul dumpy wave!

nice vibe but shit waves.
I end up surfing Caswell a lot in the winter as I can't deal with the langland crowd and I've hardly ever known it to work. On big days it can have a fun close out drop but that's about it. There's a small reef, when it works and the place is friendly but full of chavs in the summer. Great if you are starting out, I taught my son to surf here.
