From Dover take the A258 to deal follow local signs for St Margaret's at Cliffe go through village and descend steep hill to the bay. Park in front of beach.
In recent years this break has become more popular than nearby Folkestone due to the rock bottom the waves break with more power but are not so clean as Folkestone, require a large channel swell from the west, it can also work on the larger swells from the north sea requiring similar conditions to those required for Joss Bay.
Overview
Atmosphere
Very picturesque, nice pub and restaurant overlooking beach, this is where cross channel swims start from, also a few years ago a couple of Hawians set a record by becoming the first people to cross the English channel on surfboards by paddling to France.
