birling
birling gap is probably the sh*tist spot ever known to man apart from ye old faithful tidemills...the only good thing about this spot is the pub next to it. there are handryers there and its nice to get your willy warm after a surf! your better off staying at home and selling yourself on the internet to truy and save money to go somewhere in the world where there is a wave. this spot is probably in the most un-exposed place to swell in the whols world apart from the thames. thanks.....

locals
the locals at berling are not nice people they dont like anyone else goin there wen its goin off they think they deserve all the waves even tho they are rubish them self, most of them are angry old bald men that need to get a life and chill out wen they are trying to surf 2ft on shore slop.
ther are a few nice people there dont get me wrong but ther is a hand full.
i have only had one good surf there and even then it wasnt tht good the spot is too exposedso jus gets blown out even wen we do occasionly get off shore N

ive been surfing birling gap for the better part of 15 years, and i agree that there is a stong local scene.but most of you can also agree that every spot does. im not one for violence, but in many cases around the world this often happens in the line ups, this being my point! line ups...there has to be some kind of order in the water .not because i say so, but because its there for everyones safety. i think everyone can appreciate surfing can be a dangerous sport and mixed levels of performance and understanding can lead to difficult confrontations in the water. all any local surfer in the world wants is to preserve what they have!even if it begins with reminding people that there are simple rules that help us all get along.don't get upset with locals when they have a go that you were'nt looking where you where going and you could taken each others heads off, its not some empty local comment, just one of any surfer.,if we did'nt say anything people would'nt learn, and by the way i pay my dues where ever i go,thats just manners
