Park on Twywn sea front as far left on prom as possible. Walk towards pipe made of rocks 2 mins up beach. Not the little pipe within the groins. Dont try to find a way to drive down there as access is now screwed up by a new private caravan site.
Park on Twywn sea front as far left on prom as possible, you can surf off slipway on low to mid, same conditions as pipe. Walk towards pipe on left (the big one not the little one nearest you in the groins) made of rocks 2 mins up beach. Dont try to find a way to drive down there as access is now screwed up.
Overview
Atmosphere
Tywyn and Borth (accross Dovey estuary on the left)is where mist Midlanders go for a cheap hols or easy weekends away. Twywn is quiet but not dead as it is where the locals shop etc. No localism as no one is local. Odd jet skis out in summer but never a problem. If the winds wrong for a swell drive around coast road till its right.
General
For a Midlander its as local to me as possible, good for a quiet surf with a few mates or safe enough to go alone even in winter storms. With breaks developing dependent on sand bars and tide height you can always try other spots within view. Watch out for dangerious (incompetant)kitesurfer, its me.
learning
Hi I was hoping to learn to surf in the area around late August. Is there anywhere that does teaching here? Is the surfing any good in August (for learning)? Thanks
