The pipe isn't as full on as it's sister Thurso east but it's still quite a nice wave. There are a few boulders lying around but don't worry to much about them as the kelp stops you from hiting them. The wave can peak in 2 places it just depends on the swell direction.

Atmosphere
There's a mellow left hander and a full on right hander cold water and don't let the name put you off as it's not as bad as it sounds.
It's got a local crew so most of the time you have the wave not too crowded but always respect the locals!
Its more of a deep water spot so the hold downs can be longer than a similar sized wave at Thurso East. (Because theres not as much slab to slow it down. It can get fairly heavy at bigger sizes.
General
It's good for the less experienced surfer or if Thurso East is a bit too crowded the pipe is usually a good place to surf although it's by no means a low quality wave.

Surfed thurso in march 2004 but it good to big for me so went to the pipe had a 4 hour session and loved every wave

i traveled up to thurso 3 years ago to surf the famous thurso east but it was just 2 imtidating for me so i surfed the pipe instead and iv got 2 say that this spot is very under rated it is 1 of the best waves iv ever surfed and i would recomend surfing it 2 any1
