it's heavy
Surfed the cove one day and it was 2ft most places rount that area and too small for thurso, rocked up at the cove and it was overhead+ and HEAVY as hell. I took one on the head and got an absolute kicking! can't wait to have another crack at it.

A lot of time you'll be on your own to surf in this area, that's why there's nobody around...that day specifically all the guys had left to surf Thurso, which needs a bigger swell to work and was a bit calmer.
The bowl is not really surfable above 14 feet, at least not that I heard of but that would truly be kamikaze, the left hold bigger swells, I'd say it should hold up to any size regarding it's location but I'm not a local either..

explanations from the sender of the pics
ok 1st pic is the bowl with a 7feet size, 3rd pic is still the bowl but this day the swell was pretty big and it start breaking at low tide, this wave was probably about 13 feet high or maybe higher, U D ONT WANNA SURF DA BOWL AT THIS SIZE AT LOW TIDE unless you re a sociopath!!! 2nd pic is the left (or the point) it was about 1012 feet maybe I can t really tell I was alone surfing...but I can tell that it was pretty amazing, it was a drop air take off and then u do your best to keep riding the wave! If you look at the 4rth pic it s stiil the left and you can see how it was long this day.
I love this spot! I wish I could go back to Scotland to surf it again!

NW winds
We were there for a week in Sept 2002 when there was a huge high pressure over Scotland. The winds were light NW but messed it up big style. The cove was chest high at best with nothing breaking on the other two.
All the mags crack on there're ALWAYS waves pumping up here, but one Geordie guy I knew got millpond conditions on *eight* consecutive trips !!!

Not too scarey....
Cove - Relatively easy wave. Better at mid-low tide or big swell on high tide. At high tide there is a steep take-off then the wave gets fat. Virtually no rips.
Bowl - If Cove is working then Bowl will be 3ft bigger. Very quick, hollow and heavy. Quite rippy at times.
Point - Rarely works, but when it does it's an amazing sight. You can see it break from the road 2+ miles away. Much more rippy than the other two areas.

??
why is it scary? i've never surfed here and i just want to no. cheers.

rodger slightly relevant
think the first shot is the bowl, seems strange to distinguish the bowl from the rest of brimms ness as it sits right next to them. The left is a good wave but watch out for the rips-mental! f you surf the bowl, stick your head under the water with your eyes open, the view is far scarier than anything above the surface!
