Great beach - especially during the summer. Surfed there during the autumn when porthowan was crowded - 8ft and didn't have to fight for a wave. But beware of clamping during the summer - not fun when u come in from a great session to find car clamped - not a happy bunny.

behind the island rock thing
behind the rock at holywell which looks like its off the end of the headland at penhale from the town end of perranporth is some kind of break probably reef. only seen it break a handfull of times and have lived here all my life. probably needs a bigger swell than the cribber, 8-10 foot at least i would guess, maybe more. dont know how ridable it is. dont know if anyone has tried. fucking long way to paddle so a boat would be nice, oh and BIG balls. dare you!!

holywell?
surfed holywell during the summer (like jus down the road from here) wats it like in winter??
is the not a reef/point/break off that big island rock thing at the left side of the beach when there is a big swell- also is there a wedge of the rocks here coming up2 high???????

Great spot
Surfed it the other day at 4ft+, after a 4 weeks flattie.
bout 6 of us out just splitting peaks.
Nice sneakers coming through too!

My first ride!!
i love penhale! spent the summer livin in a caravan in crantock and mostly surfed penhale, got my board this summer and got some great days at penhale!

Sure it's gonna make a huge difference!
Yeah, 'cos hundreds of people are gonna read that and flood Penhale with hundreds of cars and the lineup will get so crowded that you won't be able to move!! You paranoid freak!
