Additional Surfing Infos
High cliffs overlook 4 miles of beach. At low tide it is broken into the areas Tregantle (firing range), Sharrow,Happy Valley, Tregonhawke (cafe-rocks), Boiler Beach. Rips can be strong at low tide and waves break a long way out on big swells. High tide produces enclosed bays (hence crowded) with a more punchy wave and shelter from strong winds. Occasionally picks up swell from strong East/SE winds where Bantham would not. There are lifeguards at Tregonhawke, Sharrow & Tregantle in summer. The ferry ride from Plymouth usually means it takes a while for the word to get round so you could get the beach to yourself. There is parking at various spots along the cliff -all but one is free. More details at www.surfjabroni.co.uk
  Overview
Atmosphere Pretty mellow, except when crowded at HT. Students piss the locals off coz they drop in.
General Close to plymouth, 4 miles of beach at LT. What can I say?

Localism
Just read the localism stuff below... Ha ha ha ha ha! Excellent stuff. Watch out for them locals. Luckily, they never travel, even to "proper" breaks in South Devon, or to the North Coast because they wouldn't want to piss off the the locals there. You don't do you??? Wha..?!?! You do go north when its flat in east Cornwall? But that doesn't make sense does it? Oh yeah, hang on... I forgot... You're simply full of shit. WBP forever! Ha ha! What does the "P" stand for by the way? "Pretending to be Da Hui I'm guessing". Chortle-chortle

dumb ass locals
i came back from a 2yr stay in santa cruz california, i came back because of local idiots thinking they had a claim over a section of ocean....the cherry on the cake was when one guy stabbed another surfer on the steps of a break called the hook! by the time he had reached the top of the stairs he was brought down by a county sheriff with a slug from his revolver to the thigh! listen up this sort of behaviour started with jibber jabber that im reading here. is this what we brits want? its a wave ,not your last breath/last step/last day of freedom before you do a 20yr stretch. think before you start warning folks of how gnarly you are to people who didn't grow up with the same seagull shit on em as you.because you have to drive a shorter distance to get there, doesn't make it yours. besides this message isn't for me personally, i was in the states earning a living as middle weight pro boxer,so your scare tactics are not the issue, but remember things can go tits up for people with arsey attitudes to folks wanting a good time. i saw it on that fiday afternoon (2people 1 blade 1 bullet) think again.
peace (hopefully)
