take the rip out on the right and surf the point on the right. this only works at low to mid tide but the peak in the middle is good as well. So long as the massive rips aren't running.
fake locals
Love the hype! U may find nowadays that most of us local born and bred locals are actually overrun by people who have moved here and now consider themselves local. Far fewer of the original gwenvor crew are still to be seen in the water which is a fuckin shame as we always had a stoked, friendly, sharing and good vibe..and the standard was always to a high level and we didn't drop in on each other! The new locals (who I have no idea who they are) are agro, unfriendly shitheads who have no respect for each other and are frankly selfish kooks who regularly surf like they are taking a steaming shit or have lost their glasses. So respect to the old crew who used to have respect on the point and shame on you newcomers who frankly have ruined the vibe altogether...even I feel violent when I surf there regularly and I'm a hippy!!

Gwenvor
Absolutely ramed in summer, everyone in west cornwall decides to turn up. However in winter when theres a decent wave at the main breaks, you can score this big with no one in sight. Hell of a paddleout though.

mind your step
was visited Gwenvor last winter and got told to f*@k off by a couple of angry locals when i got their way. if you want a more mellow atmosphere just go round to sennen, its often got better banks anyway.
