Sort of half way between St.Austell and Truro on the back lanes. Try and follow signs to Veryan, then Caerhays and with a bit of luck you'll end up here. It is a bit of a slog through loads of narrow, windy lanes. Scenic though.
It mainly works in the winter in similar conditions to Pentewan, but picks up more swell. It is usually twice the size of Pentewan.
Can be a bit weird. Low tide can have good long waves mainly lefts. High tide has a really good hollow reform shorebreak and fun waves outside with a useful rip on the right.
Between high tide and low tide the surf usually goes cack. It breaks a long way out no matter how big and there are strong rips.
Overview
Atmosphere
This must be the most typically English surf spot anywhere. The cliffs either side are covered in woods and come right down to the beach.
Behind the car park is a big castle with grounds and a lake.
And there's a Second World War gun turret in the corner of the car park.
Seems popular with oldies who like nothing better than sitting in their car watching the world go by.
General
If its good this is a really fun wave. If you're on your own its a bit spooky though.

ha
Janimal you are an ageing washed up surfer who is trying to make his/her/its mark on British surfing history by patrolling various UK surf websites as some sort of self appointed administrator, dealing out abuse to people who really couldn't care less. I care though, because I enjoy standing up to useless human beings like you and seeing what you can offer as a response. Get some purpose in your life before its too late, if you can't post something positive - maybe it is time to actually get back on a surfboard and see what you are missing.
