Vazon is an amazing beach to surf on. It is good for beginners and good people. Vazon is the best beach for surf in Guernsey

It may well be a long hold down, if you have never surfed outside Guernsey and you get it on a once a year over 6ft day.
Really can not be equated to Pacific Island, Ozzie, or Indo hold downs.
I have been here since Nov 2004 and have never seen a swell here that I would rate as decent (march 05). The occasional storm surf throws some messy 3-4ft mush but thats about it. Oh for some clean powerful groundswell....

At 7-8 foot plus theres a bit of a bad hold down but lets face it where isnt a hold down on an 8 foot wave not a nightmare

Vazon Slop
I live in guernsey, and have surfed this beach for 4 years, it is the best/only beach on the island. It can be a vry scary place, autumn is best after a storm you dont want to be longboarding there, slop/no power is unfair. it rocks on occasions.

Rating Vazon as powerless is little unfair, It can be gutless but then on big Autumn Swell and any onshore conditions can turn the place into a duckdiving nightmare. It can be powerful when the swell direction is right. Many a long holddown has been expreienced here.
