surf at hartley??
I live in an oil can just down on hartley beach and ive never seen a single wave break here. there's no surf here. is there? nooooo. theres loads of rocks here anyway. it would be far too dangerous.

Very uncool
I very much doubt that the waves here are better than the South West. However, it doesn't matter anyway because surfing in the North East with a Geordie accent is simply and totally uncool. Sorry you could be the best surfers in the world but you will never be cool. Or pull any birds.

Yes lets face it you are right we rip and I am glad you realise we are the boys every where in the world I travel around the world when I say I am from Tynemouth they just know. So thanks for you comment and understanding we are getting old and need all the help we can get.

hey you guys! just to let you know, you rip super good. from veitch (who, lets be honest, NONE of you knew) down to todays grommet you guys rip so hard you nearly bust your sticks! Hey, and when it's really pumping you rip even harder. just remember there ain't nobody, round any corner, who rips so hard. so when you travel up or down your coastline, over to europe, indo, oz or hawaii, you are THE men. so hold your heads up high. because you dominate! everywhere! in the world!!!

what a classic line-up of comments. just to clarify, staithes was first surfed by the whitby crew. fact. it was a minimum of two years before veitch came along and blew everybodys tits off. bah! there's always someone just a little bit hotter just up the road.
still, rest easy tynemouth surfers. you rule! everywhere you go!

stay away from hartley
The boys up here have surfed staithes much longer than the kids from whitby and around there,
Now that the cornish big ears have hit staithes why bother cause you know your going to get snaked
But dont come up to the only decent break in tyne and wear and slag it off
