Gracias chicos de Pantin!
Hola! I wanted to say thank you to some of the really sweet locals who offered to help us (me, my man and our 2 year old daughter) out when we visited Pantin recently. Our brakes went on the van and we had Emilio and his friend offering to help us and another car full of locals . Made a shit situation completely bearable by being so kind! Hope if you ever come to the UK you will get the same treatment - you will here at my home- Bantham...Gracias...

Shit in every bush!!
I came to Galicia last september with a samll group off reinds and we travelled thorugh much of the area and recognized very similar situations that occur all over seasonal destinations including the popular surf area that we, ourselves come from. People learning to surf dropping in on people without realising it etc, also people camping in places they shouldn't. When I was there many of the campsites were closed and locked up and so we had to look for out of the way places to camp, we kept all of our rubbish and left no shit in the bushes! Don't you think that instead of being aggressive towards the tourists it is your local council you should have issues with. By not enforcing the no camping laws they are depriving local camp sites of money, and local people of jobs on these campsites. Also once out in the surf the localism was so rife it just seemed pathetic considering how empty some of the breaks were. Especially when most of the local people seemed to be on bodyboards and couldn't surf anyway. Seriously you should embrace travelling surfers as a good local source of income. In some areas it seemed much needed and maybe if people weren't so aggressive about it people would be more willing to cooperate anyway. If you guys travelled to my local break I'm sure they'd be many people willing to help you out!!
Kepp cool and make sure you don't shit on your own doorstep even if everyone else is.

Campers, get ready.
Enough is enough. I absolutly agree. It is an absurd situation, people camping in parking lots like gypsies, just invading the whole place without any respect. If i were you i'd watch out next summer... We are planning a nice "wheel flattening" campaign that will last all of next summer.
You want to camp? go to camping sites. You want to learn to surf, do so but without putting in danger everyone else. We have had enough...
Dear Illegal campers (Soul-surfers-wannabes), get ready to change your tires, cause we are coming at ya.

tourists stay away
avoid the place in summer, there are too many caravans, too many tourists, a lot of people in the water. come back in winter when you can enjoy surfing

enough is enough
it used to be a very nice place, but with 50 cararavans in the parking from July to end Aug now it is overcrowded. These people wash theyr dishes and themselves in the showers ignoring the warnings, shit all around like the bees shit in the woods, and many are beginners with no idea going to the main pick putting a lot of danger in the game. They just put theyr caravan for days in the park steeling the locals ( not only the surfers ) the place when they just go to the beach from the village nearby. itīs not allowed to camp, but as the local police doesnīt make theyr job, they just stay there in a very cheecky attitude. This summer some trouble begun with it, and itīs only a cosecuence of saturation of the place. I can tell you for sure this will be not longer a friendly place to go. Be ready to have some hassle here from now on, cause enough is enough. A local.

empty
I surfed here in late may 2006 and the sea was crystal clear and the line up pretty empty.

Accomodation
Aloha!
I would like to spend 10 days in Pantin this August. Can any of you guys provide me some contacts of some nice accommodation to rent? I've got some health troubles in the lungs, therefore I need accommodation with good cleaning cares and it must be an efficient shelter against the coldness and humidity. Please email me if you can! facgarcia@yahoo.com
