On best days the spot is very windy but the wave is fast and the barrels are small only a handfull of locals know how to take the wave. In winter Luanco is a dead town but if you like fine fishware...just go to Luanco. People are very friendly....nice chicks!!!!
Aquellos maravillosos años
This wave was surfed first-time for some Salinas locals back in 1.991-1.992. That was before a jetty was built and affected wave's quality.Back then We used to surf it by ourselves, now it is too crowded and full of cooks. Too bad....

luanco's night life
I lived in Luanco for some years and although now i am based in Scotland i keep going there every time i can. Although i have to agree, its dead during the winter, i have to tell that easter holidays feels a bit like summer there because most of the people are back for a few days. Its also good to check out the village on the first weekend of february as there is a local bank holidays and some years it gets pretty crowded. Apart from that is dead until the summer when the whole village is packed with people. If you are thinking on going there, i think August is the best time to go. On the night of the 14th of August everybody on the village dress up in fancy dresses, its our wee summer carnival or "carnaval de verano" and it last until the next day in the morning!

It only work with big swells
This spot doesn´t work consistent. It only works with big to huge swells, when the other beaches are closing out, for example San Lorenzo with more than 10 feet.
