quality i have lived all my life in el puerto, on those days when the swell is right, this is the place to be, but in recent years it seems that the swells have gotten smaller and smaller or i have gottem bigger n bigger, cadiz in recent years has become so inconsistent, i blame global warming and change to the swell patterns, this never use to happen back in the day. also, el pico just doesnt seem to work any more, too much sand on the reef. if you think kelly had it hard in florida, try el puerto

el pico de rocas de las redes alfonsito arias i've surfed this spot whole my life , but the best wave isn't the sand bar , at the same place wher you arrive to the las redes beach , look at your rigth, there are several rocks there that you can see with low tide , there,it0s one of the best waves in whole Cádiz , really , if it's big is icredible good , but some times very crowed, i've have been in Indo , it's more or lees like Bingin but lees hollow , but the best wave there for sure, locals are nice, but some times to much people on this wave,

im a local bodyboarder from las redes this is one of my favourite beach in all the cadiz coast. the best thing here is that everybody thinks there is no wave in this beach, but they are very wrong. there are several spots in Las redes, the best is a secret spot placed near the american base (its a secret spot situated 200 frome the shore)and y enjoy a lot the rock spot( in the middle of the beach), this spot offers you perfect tubes.Fede. Las REdes (cadiz) is the best beach in cadiz!!!!!

Old News I haven't surfed this spot in 10+ years, but it was my home break for a few years in the late 80's early 90's. I saw a few REALLY good days here. The best days were on the extreme low tides. Like most beach/sandbar breaks it's a bit shifty and erratic, but it can really pull it together occasionally. I got my first (and second and third) tube here. Spring was ideal, but I surfed it pretty much year round. Minus the summer, of course when the number of folks floundering in the water reached max density. I wish I still had access to this spot. It is gentle, forgiving, and fun but still capable of doling out a pounding occasinally to remind you who is in charge.Mark Vermillion
