love portugal but the locals from peniche are theiving pricks and nicked £1300 of my camera gear with 2000 photos of our trip including sick nazare; fully gutted. the police do nothing to help. They will break in to your car in broad day light and take everything valuble and your insurance won't cover theft from unattended vehicles!! good wave but its crowded when its on with most of portugals good spongers all over it however you can get waves if you hassle.
If any portugeuse person has been sold a Nikon D70 with filters, mem cards, lowe pro bag or a sony video camera please email me, would be nice to get pictures back.

one of the best beachbreak barrels in the world , looks like reef but it is sand. But that thoesn t mean its softer. Whenn its bigger than 5 feet it is a serious wave for advanced surfers only , you have to know how to get barreled a do late take offs , and you got the have the board , that probably will break.

i love it
just came back from peniche.was my 7 or 8 vacation there
tubos is one of the best bb in the world , but even in june very cold . maybe they should change the name to icetube

be aware of that things get stolen at the car park .

my goal for surfing....
wow this place looks like teahupoo!! but its on sand! definetly my goal to be able to surf there, prob can still hurt myself but no reef fears...and eu fala pequeno portuguese, joga capoeira e futebol...i am on my way!

DON'T leave anything in your car, even if you're just checking the surf!! In a packed carpark, in broad daylight, we had the side window put through and a Canon EOS digital camera & 300mm lens nicked - noone saw anything!! - hindsight is a bitch (we'd been warned!!) Didn't get to surf perfect 4'+ because we had to sort the van out and lost all the photos of our trip!!

supertubos
i visited supertubos on a recent visit to portugal and i must say its one of the best waves iv ever ridden. middle of summer, not the biggest of swells but 3-4ft but offshore winds and the most perfect barrels ever! a lot heavier than any wave that size in england and just a lotta fun. hardly anyone in and the people that were, were just the local boogers and they are pretty friendly if you spark up a bit of conversation. definatly comin back again

great!!
i've been there last summer for 6 weeks and i had great waves everyday!! even with bad wind!! i recommend it 2 everybody me and my friends had a great time there the beginners can start there 2 but they must go to baleal when the waves are bigger than 1.5m
