When in Peniche, drive to Baleal. It's in front of a big yellow house, with a parking lot usually full of vans.
More simply 5 min from Peniche when driving north, you have a long right turn, and a big parking place on your right. It's there. There's a shower and some drinkable water. |

| | Even though it's mainly a left handed wave, it has a right handed peak, mushy and soft most of the time. Ideal for learning surfers, but when the waves get over 6 feet, it becomes a good wave for everyone. Easy to escape even when you go left so you don't have to paddle to much.

Very good atmosphere. Because it's a reef, not many beggining (noisy and violent) surfers go there, leaving the spot to the most calm, older surfers. |

mushy peak
Only about 6 people outon the peak, with very inconsistent mushy waves being blown hrough by a moderate onshore. Still this was preferable to the ultra-soft waves being riden by a zillion longboarders on the south side o Baleal..... Shame
