just for your information, photo nº1 is real... I guess you are the kook as you can't tell the difference between a real photo and an altered one. But what's so amazing with that photo anyway? Just a guy pulling an air doing is skimboarding. Half the skimboarders in Portugal do that. Maybe you thought it was a surfer? Yeah, I can see the real kook now :)

Great Memories
As a local I have great memories doing Bodyboard. It's a kind spot with fast waves with some power. At moment it isn't so good as 8 years ago, however keep trying and maybe you have some suprises. Do & Enjoy it.
