General Seasonal Wind Conditions???
I have a question about the general wind conditions- My girlfriend who is originally from Lisbon and I are planning to come to portugal next fall. I was originally thinking October, but late November might work out better for her to see her family. I know it gets bigger from fall and into the winter. I've been surfing for 20 years & I'm not afraid of surf in the 10-15 foot & maybe a little larger range, but I'm concerned about the wind conditions... for example is October generally cleaner than November? or does the wind vary similarly? cold water is not an issue either as I live in New Jersey and surf straight through the winter. Long story short is it better yto come in Oct or late Nov? much respect and obrigado muito!

Ericeira is great!!!
i stayed in Ericeira for a couple of days at the end of November 06; it is by far my favorite place in Portugal for waves and fun. Compared to Peniche, which has great waves as well, the area is closer to some nightlife in Lisbon and a bit more expensive as a result. If you ever want to surf in Portugal, you never have to calculate for more than 30 euros a night in the Residencias (i was off season...). Portugal is great. Try the pastries and the billion variety of coffees they serve.

I'm replying a bit late to your message. I stayed in ericeira in one of ninthbeach.com's apartments, pretty cool. surf is great in this area
