It is not illegal to surf Saltstein! - The official from district environmental authorities had to withdraw their fine when they were questioned about their rights too give surfers fine in an area were politicians from the local community have stated Salstein to be a Surfer and Windsurfer area.

get caught here - And you might get a 6000 kr fine for illegal surfing. Its a protected area

eastcoast surf? - so where are these other spots that are surfable on the eastcoast? from stavanger, stuck in oslo, and i need some surf without having to travel back home every weekend.

andre spots???

seriously... - Anybody considering to go surf Saltstein, beware that this is a one star spot, at it´s absolute best. Even then it´s a fat, meshy and powerless wave. It´s "surfable" say 20 times per year, but that is if you consider supermessy onshore windslob. You can score groundswell in case of a rare hurricane, but still with howling offshore winds it doesn´t clean up. Only reason people surf it, is because it´s the only place you´re close to scoring surf, and the most consistent in the east coast. Tip: when theres a good swell, check out other potential spots. East coast of norway is surfable...

- Who the fcuk gave this place 3 stars? There's nicer looking swell in my bath tub after a curry!!!
