If you don't want to swim you can jump from the rocks beside the pub "Rock Island", located at the top of the pier. There's a parking lot just beyond yhe beach. Summertime can get very crowded : respect all to be well-accepted.
Rimini is a renewed holiday station in europe. This means that locals have to deal every day with "strangers on their land": be respectful and they will be glad to share the waves with others.
Can be good 5 or 6 times a year, but wintertime can work often. When you listen to TV forecast for "BORA" wind go for sure.

Unreal - Can't believe Rimini gets waves. I've swam there before, although it was summertime, and it's hard to imagine that the Adriatic Sea gets waves. How often does Rimini get waist high surf?
