This is not a surf spot. When anything breaks here it is gutless. Won't stop a load of kooks giving it a go though. Do not even bother unless it's a full on southerly gale

Scientific Inaccuracy
I have just checked the average wave height and wave period for between 2002-2004.Between October to March the average wave height in the Irish sea was 4.5 feet with a wave period of 5.1 seconds.April to September the average wave height was 4 feet with a wave period of 4 seconds.However we must be aware that wave heights and wave periods do not solely determine the quality of surf. There are other factors such as local topography, tides, and winds.However if we combine the evidence from recorded Buoy data with the poor surf reports of this location from local surfers, I can conclude that whilst Mahermore may be surfable a few days a year, it is scientifically innacurate to call this place a 'regular regional classic' surf destination.For the benefit of all wannasurf.com users I recommend this destination be removed from your website.Thank you

I have to agree with Madbrad...The Eastcoast is a complete joke and Maghermore is definately NOT a place I would even bother driving to (even if I was desperate for a surf). Tramore is the nearest surfable wave and even that place would only qualify to get 1 star at best. Stick to making the journey out West and enjoy the quality waves and hospitality.

Disgraceful
Please take this spot down.It must have been put up as a joke.It is surfable a few days a year when there is a big northerly or southerly storm.If you look at the wave buoy readings in the Irish sea you will understand it is impossible for this place ever to be consistent or called a regional classic.This website is brilliant as surfers can advise other surfers on places to go and highlight any dangers that they could encounter.It is not funny fooling people who would visit Ireland to surf to waste their time going to this place. Stay North South or West for great surf, NOT East Coast.

Whoever added this should be ashamed. The east coast is brutal. absolutely brutal. The day I get a 300m ride at this place ill run onto the nearest farm and fornicate with the nearesty barnyard animal I can find. Hope your suspensions good.
