i miss waves!! - hey everybody
we are two french friends who search good spot and people for surfing!we live now in hamburg and we read about helgoland,we are really interested for trying on your place!!!is it possible have some contact of local people???we are from south of france!!see you!!

hell go land! - i`ve been there at july08 while an unusual summerstorm hit da place.the mentioned jetty creates clean steep waves.just two locals, me and hundreds(!)of seals arround. the campground is very nice and cheap.cos of a special tax-system u can buy best alco and fine food for less money!in a big swell at the most nw-peak there`s a virgin reefbreak (in front of "lange anna"), never surfed yet!who will be the first one, surfing germanys one`n only reefbreak???show me...

ferry from downtown hamburg - there's a ferry from downtown Hamburg every day and a cool campground on the small beach island-


there used to be a small second hand surf shop in Hamburg-Altona where you can even rend a board and wetsuite (dunno if it still exists)

Stoke is Stoke - Kudos for finding stoke in unlikely places. Its all yours! We (So Cal) can only imagine a non-advesarial relationship with other surfers.
I had a hiatus to the Great Lakes region years ago. As a true surfer, I kept an eye on the lake (MI). Surprising how good it can get. Found pure stoke. Discovered surfing is much more than just the waves. Keep surfing.
