I liked it
Surfed here during August 09, flat at first but slowly got bigger until it was experts only (which doesn't include me!). Nice regular swell, best with tide going out, warm water, good vibe.

Wann go to Mimizian or Vieux Boucau in july this summer...I´m afraid to have no swell- is it true or can i surf also in july?

Great bodyboarding august 2007
This place was great, it's not as crowded as the other spots (i'm talking about south vieuxboucau the entrance of the lake)
and what amazing waves we had, although sometimes streams are really strong, but we had a few days when it reached 2meters but usually was about 0.8m to 1.2m

Hey, I'm going to Vieux Boucau August 2007. I'm not a surfer but a skimboarder. does anyone know if there are some skimboarders over there as well? and how's the shorebreak?

Hi everybody,
I'm anne and i'm from holland and i want to go surfing this summer. I can't chose between vieux boucau and mimizan. Does anybody have any good comments or recommandations for me??Please place it in this massagebox!!Thanx!

The current is really strong especially at the beach break just in front of the surfschool, located on the beach - don't swim there and always take your board. It does make quite a practice spot but you'll soon want to enjoy the break just a 100 meters north which provides left and right breaking waves, but in summer you can only surf the right because the left one rolls into the swimming area. Even more to the north there's another break but I didn't go there.
The locals are good surfers and they make long rides. Most of them hang around the surfschool which is runned by friendly people.

i've been windsurfing for about a year now, but only on lakes. i started actualsurfing three weeks ago and i wanted to know if vieux boucau is amateur friendly. plus are there really that many germans?

Hi dudes, i´m from germany and for the last 10 years i been to vieux boucau every year for 3 to 4 weeks!
It is one of the best places to surf!
Great parties and surfing lolitas, too...*g*

Hope to c u this year, will go there 30th Juli to 20th august!
