good starting
Have been there in summer 2008 for 2 weeks. Lucky to have goood swell and nice school: go4Surf (german based school).surroundings not croudy and family friendly. Come back again in 2009

bullshit!
been there for more than 10 years now. water is NOT polluted (wonder, where you guys have been???) and the locals are open minded and friendly. perhaps you were the problem? looking forward to stay there 4 weeks again in august and having a good time as every year....

crowded and polluted
lots of locals surfers...
very dirty water too, i caught an ear infection surfing there in september 07...
definitly not worth going there..

not so good...
was there in autumn 07...
waves are not too bad but a lot of pollution due to the courant at the south of the beach...
very bad locals too, i met one when surfing and trust me it s not a good place to be...
just head north to mimizan or south to capbreton hossegor where you can find the same waves in a better atmosphere...

Overcrowded
How can you say that this spot is empty ? What a joke !! 40 people out at 10 am on a monday morning in september, is that what you call empty ?!!! This place is just OVERCROWDED !!

i HAVE BEEN THERE ´LAST FALL ´; COULD NOT SEE ANY´THING POLLUTED; RATHER GOOD WATER QUALITY > nice locals with a few exceptions!!

As described in the stormrider guide to europe (2006), this spot is unfortunatly badly polluted...

Unfortunatly, this spot is really crowded... just like the rest of the landes... much better waves can be found 80 km south...Don't waste your time, head to hossegor/capbreton where the real action is !! have a good surf !!
