timing is every thing I just got back from s/w France. The waves were decent. When the sets came, they came fast. This time of year, we had the entire beach to ourselves. Check out Seven Seas Ecole de Surf in Le Moulleau. Tele 06 67 24 66 88. Talk to Julian or Thomas. Very good surfers who surf the world and know their stuff. The beaches and people were awesome. Definetly not the hip trip in Biarritz. This entire strectch from Arcachon to Biarritz looks fun to explore. I'll be back there.

impressive !! Just in Biscarrosse from august 7-14 for body surfing and boarding. Beach, like everywhere in france at this time was very crowded, but is beautiful and big, so still lots of room. Town easy going and very pleasant. Never expected such great waves ! Was worried it would be too calm and for several days was real big and rough then came back to normal. Extra feature is that if ocean is not an option, can always wake board, sail or just lay low at Biscarrosse lake, great options for a great spot-look forward to next year !

Been there, done that This summer (2004) I had my first surf-experience.This was in Biscarosse (France) and it was great. Good waves for newbies, quite a few schools to choose from (we went to this place called Point Break in Biscarosse-Plage, nice people) and the weather was great!Furthermore, there are 2 campings really close to the beach (less then a km. walk) with lots of shade from the trees. The sea can be a bit crowded though, especially when the tide starts to rise.Besides that, great fun!

Camping in Biscarosse Which is the best...or cheapest...camping ground close to the beach?? I am coming with some of my friends and want to go surfing for 2 weeks but don't want to stay too far from the beach...
